Just a short one from me this time but none the less interesting (In my own opinion).> I have been an iOS users for years yet have never fully got to grips with how to use Siri in iOS and OSX sierra in my day to day life. Some of this mainly down to my naivety of what Siri was able to do. With the integration of Siri into macOS Sierra I felt I needed to maybe get onboard with Siri and the functionality available. For many the extent of Siri related knowledge comes from either Apple ads, asking Siri… read more →
iPhone Flashlight Brightness: I am forever using the Flashlight, (or Torch) within Control Center on my iPhone. When i say ‘Flashlight’, it’s really just the camera LED flash doubling up as a flashlight. But with a baby that keeps getting me out of bed in the middle of the night, having this ‘Flashlight’ to hand is really useful! The problem is that the Flashlight is really bright and previously could not be toned down. iOS 10 has now added a nice new update to the Flashlight : The ability to adjust the Flashlight Brightness! The bad news. Like some of… read more →
Universal Clipboard is one of the latest Continuity features available on Apple Devices. Before Universal Clipboard Apple previously released Handoff as a Continuity feature for starting a document within an app on one Apple device and then continuing that document using the same app on another Apple device. I blogged about this feature on its’ release within the first part of my ‘OS X Yosemite hidden feature series’ back in 2014. What is Universal Clipboard? Universal Clipboard expands on the Handoff feature by offering the ability to copy content from any app on an Apple device into that device’s clipboard,… read more →
How to prioritise iOS App Downloads in iOS 10 Have you ever downloaded or updated a bunch of iOS apps all at the same time, then realized you really need to use one of those apps? The problem now is that the app is stuck in a download queue. iOS 10 has a nice new feature : you can now Prioritise iOS App Downloads by specifying a downloading app so that it jumps to the front of the download queue, without having to cancel the other downloads first. Some users opt to set their iOS Devices to automatically update apps… read more →
Even with Apple… Fail to prepare, prepare to fail Once upon a time, the average workplace was a sea of grey plastic with PC clones wall to wall. Now, you’re just as likely to see brushed aluminium because Apple devices are appearing at work in greater and greater numbers. No self-respecting business would ever have contemplated not having a support contract and a rapid repair arrangement in place for their PC clones. But Apple devices are different. Simply, they go wrong less often and they last a lot longer. Thus, it’s not uncommon find businesses with support and repair contracts… read more →

I have to say that I discovered this neat little trick by accident the other day and since then, I have used it quite a few times! When your iPhone is connected to your Mac computer and you open Preview, it gives you the option to import your photos from your iPhone: File > Import From (your device’s name) This works in the same way as Image Capture and it’s an easy way if you just need to quickly view/ crop a photo, as you can just use Preview’s built-in tools.
Without a doubt if I was stuck on a desert island the one item I would take would be my iPhone. It may sound stupid to love an inanimate object but I am in love with my iPhone. He even has a name… Percy! Percy’s always there, he makes me sound intelligent (thanks Google), he keeps me in touch with my family scattered across the world thanks to iMessage, he always finds a song for my mood and I have a slight addiction to Temple Run 2. However, Percy is poorly! His sleep/power button is stuck/broken, and his warranty has… read more →
