MACADUK Conference 2016: Talks Announced

FileVault 2  – Decoded by Rich Trouton

Rich Trouton has been supporting and administering Macs in enterprise and public sector environments for 18+ years. He is also the author of the hugely popular blog for Mac Admins, Der Flounder. Rich will walk though various topics, including information on how FileVault 2 works, the different kinds of recovery options for FileVault 2, how to use Apple’s fdesetup tool for managing FileVault 2 from the command line, and various tips and tricks for better managing this encryption solution. Advanced Munki by Greg Neagle

Greg Neagle is the engineer primarily responsible for deploying and managing OS X machines at Walt Disney Animation Studio and is the creator of the popular OS X tool, Munki. Greg’s talk will be on “Advanced Munki” — a deeper dive into the “advanced” features and usage of Munki.” See more here.

Firefox Administration by Mike Kaply

Mike Kaply has been working with Web Browsers for almost as long as they have been around. Since leaving IBM in 2009, he now helps organisations that need to customise and deploy Firefox. Mike’s talk is entitled “Firefox Administration: Everything you wanted to know about administering Firefox (on Mac and Windows), but were afraid to ask.”  See more here.

The conference will be held at the St James Theatre, a stunning venue close to Victoria Station. With a capacity of 400, the talks will take place in both the impressive auditorium and studio.
