Getting Started with Mac OS X
This one-day course teaches students how to get the most out of Mac OS X. Instruction can be targeted to students’ needs, addressing selected topics in depth, or presenting a general overview of Mac OS X. This course is conducted by an Apple Certified Trainer.
iWork 09 Training
This two-day, hands-on course introduces students to the key features and basic interface of iWork ’08. iWork ’08 is a suite of productivity tools that includes Pages for producing professional looking documents, Numbers for creating spreadsheets, tables and charts, and Keynote for developing high-quality presentations. In this course, you will learn how to work with writing and graphics tools to create beautiful documents. You will find out how to effortlessly create stunning presentations, complete with Apple-designed themes, cinema-quality animations, and voiceover narration. You will create compelling spreadsheets for everything from family budgets and event planning to invoices and complex financial reports. And all three applications give you import and export compatibility with Microsoft Office applications.
Keynote 09
Keynote is Apple’s iWork application for creating simple to advanced presentations.
Keynote ’09 allows you to create effective and professional presentations with animations and narration.
Amsys are now offering a one day introductory course which can be run onsite at your work location or at one of our training centres.
The course is half trainer presentation and half hands-on exercises and demonstrations, with plenty of time for students to try out their own ideas and presentations.
Mac Integration Basics
This course is designed for individuals bringing a Mac computer into a small business environment that is predominantly Windows-based. Windows Small Business Server is most likely the server being used. The course is also for users replacing a Windows computer with a Mac, and for reference by system administrators supporting the above users.
During this course you’ll learn all the different ways you can integrate a Mac within your organization’s network environment including how to configure your Mac to work with Active Directory, and how to take advantage of network services, file sharing, printing, instant messaging, emailing, calendars and contacts.
You’ll also learn about security at the user, local network, and remote networking levels. You’ll learn about data management, both migrating your data from a Windows computer as well as backing up your important data. Finally you’ll learn how to run Windows programs directly on your Mac, giving you total compatibility and interoperability with colleagues using Windows.
iBooks Author
This course is designed to get users up and running in iBooks Author. It will cover the full extent of the application and offer an in-depth look at interactive iBook creation from creating a new interactive iBook to finally publishing a finished product.
