Amsys follow the industry recognized PRINCE2® approach for delivering all our Apple consultancy projects.

Our basic framework for delivering these projects has been refined over a number of years to ensure that your technical requirements are met within the initially agreed timescales and budget.

Our projects, as a general rule, follow these steps:

  • Project initiation, scoping & outline proposal
  • Statement of work and technical solution design
  • Technical project delivery
  • Post delivery support

Project initiation, scoping and outline proposal

Designed to capture your requirements and produce an outline proposal, including the estimated costings for the proposed project.

Statement of work and technical solution design

Following acceptance of the outline proposal, this second stage is to produce a technical solution design, which describes, from a technical perspective, the solution we intend to deliver. The technical solution design also aims to provide a non-technical perspective, explaining the basic behavior of the intended system, including what software will be installed and what settings will be enabled.

Accompanying the technical solution design will be a statement of work. This is similar to the outline proposal but with far more detail, breaking the project down into smaller and more manageable phases.

The projects are broken into phases at this point and will always contain an installation / deployment phase and a post deployment support phase.

The purpose of the statement of work is to provide a robust project structure, including quality control measures, time tolerances and sign-off procedures that can be tracked and followed by technical and non-technical managers.

Project Delivery

Once you have signed off the technical solution design and statement of work, we can begin the technical delivery of the project.

This is tracked closely by the Amsys support team and daily reports sent to both the project managers at Amsys and the main client contact, to ensure you are up to speed with how the project is progressing.

It is important to point out that at this stage of the project, any new requests or alterations will be subject to the change control procedure described below.

Amsys will intend to invoice for the work upon completion of this phase, once you have tested and signed off the completed work against the quality measures that have been detailed in the statement of work.

Post Delivery Support

The final phase of the project is onsite support. Although not always required, it is recommended that this be budgeted for.

Amsys will ensure that the delivered solution works as originally agreed, but some users may still feel confused when presented with the new system, especially if they have never used a Mac before.

This onsite support, which is always recommended for the first day or two of first use by the users, would then be followed by another reserved day a few weeks later to resolve a “snag list” if required.
