Freerange are an independent PR Communications agency specializing in creating news and PR via original and intelligent campaigns for “pleasure brands”

Requirement:

Freerange first approached Amsys to assist with the migration of their office from PC to Mac s since they were dissatisfied with their then current PC support company, they also decided to switch to Mac due to the intuitive nature of the Mac software.

As part of the consultation process, Amsys proposed a Mac migration solution along with an outsourced Mac support plan.

Solution:

Our experienced Mac consultants planned and implemented a Mac Migration solution for Freerange, which included:

  • Replacement of PC workstations with Mac OS X Devices
  • Installation of a Mac Mini Server
  • Mac Mini Configuration – which was updated to the latest OS X and Kerio Connect was installed
  • DHCP transferred from the PC server to Sonicwall
  • Directory Services Configuration
  • Mac OS X Client Configuration
  • All agreed Mac software included in the Mac Images

We then advised Freerange of our recommended outsourced Mac support plan to support their Mac network, which they accepted and included:

Service Management

  • Account Manager
  • Monthly ServiceDesk Statement

User Support

  • Server Remote Support
  • Telephone Support
  • Client Mac Telephone & Remote Support

Preventative Server Maintenance

  • ARM, Amsys’ bespoke real-time server monitoring software, continually ensures that critical processes are running correctly on the server.

Priority Fast Track Service

  • Prioritized Mac hardware repair service

Server Administration

  • Includes, but not limited to, adding and deleting users, enforcing password policies and locking down folders and files.

Conclusion

A year on, Freerange have been very pleased with the support service they have received from Amsys, and renewed their contract in November. Compared to their experiences with previous support companies, Freerange have felt “more supported” and have been pleased with the services and advice that the Amsys Support contract provides.
